Cairo
Breakfast at the hotel. Then visit the Giza plateau. Visit the site of the pyramids: Kheops, the
biggest of the three, Khephren, and Mykerinos much smaller than its two sisters, keeping at
its base, its original coating. On its sides stands the impressive sphinx with the head of a man
(57 m long) whose role was to defend the entrance of the tomb against the pillagers. Lunch in
a typical restaurant. Then departure for the visit of the capital of the Ancient Egyptian
Empire, Memphis to the south of Cairo. The city was founded by King Menes around 3000
BC and placed under the protection of the god Ptah, the patron of the Artisans. Then visit of
the pyramid of Sakkara was built around -2700 for the pharaoh Djoser by the architect
Imhotep.
